Welcome to CHR, good having you join up! Always good to have input from the "way down South" crowd!!!!
Welcome!
Always good to see another Kiwi.
Christchurch huh?
Hope you didn't get too shaken up...we had one here New Year's morning...5.3, but no damage.
.
Welcome to CHR enjoy your stay
Greetings Mr W...Hows it going??Good to see you here..A good bunch of guys..(and gal)(s)....:D You better tell the troops where your Koop came from..:D:D
Welcome to CHR. We'll look forward to your input and thoughts. Sounds like maybe there's a story about the coupe?
Funny thing...was rummaging through my shed last week looking for a particular pane of glass, and came across a couple of empty stubbies, labelled:
"Canterbury Radiator
Co Ltd.
With compliments
ANTI-FREEZE
4% Alc/Vol.
The best place to come for a leak."
(One is on the desk in front of me as I write.)
They were given to me by some reprobate by the name of Gerard McCloy at Muscle Car Madness 2012 after I trailered his model A paddock basher from Methven to Rangiora.
Neither Gerard nor Annemarie are beer drinkers...but I am!
So when I refused payment for trailering the A, he gave me a couple of stubbies of your beer...so, well, you know how it is, rather than see it wasted...

.
Welcome!
I've never been down that part of the world but plan to head over there this year. Luckily we do some business there so that'll pay for the trip and I'll squeeze in some personal fun while I'm there.
Thanks Guys,
The '27 T Tudor & matching Coca Cola Chiller trailer we imported down to New Zealand from Missouri USA in '06, was powered by 302w & C4 trans but biffed those and shoe-horned in my blown 327(small journal) Chev & T/H350.
The '29 A Coupe (262 Chev V8 & 5spd manual/stick shift:D) we imported from Long Beach (LA), built and owned by long time US rodder Richard Graves. Has been featured in Street Rodder magazine a couple of times, is in the book "Art Of The Hot Rod" by Ken Gross and on the front cover of Motorbooks "Hot Rod Body & Chassis Builders Guide" by Dennis Parks. It's a neat wee rod (well I think so anyway), and I like the small custom touches which don't jump out at you until you really look. Will try to get some pics up when I can.

Here ya go KH, one of my favorites, Richard knows what he's doing. And welcome aboard BTW.
As just a starter, I would point viewer attention to the body to frame fitment........but there's so much more to see.
Sorry!
A stubbie is a small bottle of beer around half a pint.
A paddock basher is a car (usually not roadworthy,) that can be tossed around a paddock (field,) without being worried abot it getting damaged.
A reprobate is an unprincipled person of highly immoral character...I used it here facetiously...Gerard is a bloody good bloke of high moral standard and high principles.
Kiwi slang huh?
We understand it!

.
Johnboy sends me some monthly correspondence that is sometimes an adventure in terminology, but always colorful and entertaining. Rosetta Stone doesn't offer a training program................I've already checked.:whacked:
Yeah Robin, I've liked that car from the first time I saw it.
I can appreciate that Uncle Bob! Even Lamin8r and the other far southeners "get" me once in a while!
Sweet coupe and welcome to CHR!
Welcome Helrod, great coupe! My wife and I are visiting New Zealand, Australia & Tasmania for 3 weeks the latter part of March, first part of April. Whats the weather that time of year? Any hot rod stuff going on then?
I assume you know Squeak Bell, he said just to spend the whole time in New Zealand but my wife wants to see the other countries too.
Thanks,
Mick
Welcome K H,
Love the coupe.:):) Might I assume your coupe is the same one as in Uncle Bob's pic.?
I don't know Squeak personally, but have met him a couple of times as he attends an event here in Christchurch (Muscle Car Madness) that his good mate Craig Stare runs.
New Zealands biggest (and best in my opinion) car event is The Beach Hop in beautiful Whangamata and is between Wednesday 20th March through to Sunday 24th March (check out Welcome to the Whangamata Beach Hop ) then the following weekend (Friday 29th March through to Monday 1st April) is the NZ Hot Rod Nationals in Taupo (in the middle of the North Island of NZ & about 3hrs drive south of Whangamata).
I had replied to your post but for some reason it was deleted ? Will try again...

Plus, the Hotrod Blowout,,in Auckland,if you are into older style rods,etc..Always a lot of NZ rodding history there..Sunday March 31,,and the following weekend,is our Nostalgia Drags, just south of Auckland..Weather??Starting to cool off a little, but can still turn on a few hot days..Usually quite good weather..3 weeks?? need 6 weeks here..and another 3 in Aussie..
Thanks guys for the information, just what I was looking for.
Most of the time we will be on a cruise ship doing the usual tourist stops, but plan on spending a few extra days in Aukland so hope to take in some car stuff there.
Thanks again,
Mick
Welcome Helrod.
