Whiplash, they did come with a 6, but it was a less popular option. The 8 is more desireable by hot rod guys, but what a lot of people dont realize is that they only had 10 more hp than the 6. Yeah there are go fast parts for the 8, but since this car is basically all original, I'm not going to swap the motor. Theres no point in screwing with something that is in such good shape. Just run what it has. A part of me wants to rod this thing out, but i cant bring myself to cut it up. And you hit it on the head with the family thing. After I lost the first 46 I had, I picked up a 1949 Chevy 3100. But the wife and I talked last week and decided that building a pickup didn't make much sense seeing as how we will be having kids in the next few years, and you can't carry kids around in a std cab truck... I told her we COULD... by throwing a rumble seat in the bed and strapping them down, but she didn't like that idea. Hahaha. And thanks CF!
