Hello Everyone

Hello everyone! My name is Slade. Im 17 years old but My entire family as been into restoring and building classic cars their whole lives so I have a much larger knowledge than your average 17 year old. I joined this site because I sometimes need help with my current project(s) and i would like to do it myself and if i ask my family they usually just do it for me :D.

My first car is a 1976 chevy monza towne coupe! It was one of the rare ones that came out of the factory with a 305 two barrel. I have now got a 350 Under the hood of my little car. I inserted a small moderate oversize cam, a Q-jet four barrel , and some subframe connectors to stiffen it up a little bit. Im currently working on all the body work which I have learned REALLY fast why people charge so much for body work. Its a neat little car :D

You know it! Especially when im doing a car its almost impossible to buy replacement panels for so theres alot of bondo involved as well

Welcome to the group, Slade!!! We fixed a lot of rusted out areas before patch panels became so commonplace. Amazing what can be done with a piece of 20 ga. and some basic sheet metal working tools!!!!

This was the worst part of the whole car . The back tail light panel. Someone had apparently tried to push this car home after if broke down and dented the it pretty good but we beat it back out pretty good.

Well if someone could inform me as to how i can show pictures on here that would be great. How i normally do it isnt working

You would have to click on Go Advanced....scrowl down to manage attachments and click on that to put a picture on.

click on GO ADVANCED
scroll down to " manage attachments "
at the top right corner you will see " ADD FILES "
click on it
then a box will pop up .. click on : SELECT FILES "
click on the picture you want to post
it should appear in the box
click upload ..
i may have left something out as i cant post pictures from my work computer

Heres some before and afters of the worse part of the whole car. My back tail light panel was totally screwed up with rust and dents . I wanted to replace it but with the rareness of my car around my area and just in general i couldnt find a parts car for sale for the price i could afford

we beat it back streight, sanded it, and grinded it and granted there wasnt alot of metal left (lol) I learned how to spread bondo very effectively.

This is a before and after of the scoop on the stock hood scoop on the car. we cut wholes in it and are going to put a mesh material behind it to give me both fresh air and plus i kinda think its cool


Ive also learned you can do some pretty amazing stuff with some quick steel and a grinder lol

it looks very cool to me.

yea i thought it was too.
