newbie- working on project 35-40 frame
Well, I just got me a complete 35-40 rolling chassis. It's mostly complete. The ole' frame is shot all to pcs., but I got a pretty nice frame that has been sand blasted and painted.
Saturday, the weather was nice and I took everything loose so that the engine is ready to lift out, the rear-end is ready to pull out and the front end it ready to go. I'm gonna roughly clean it up and put them on the better frame.
Then, I've got to get me a good engine. Mine was left out in the open and it's supposed to be cracked, but I've yet to see the crack. It's a 49-53 engine.
I was reading on here about bodies. I would like to build a 50's style roadster rat rod (budget and not fancy), but I'm not sure what body to got with. I really don't care what year it is (32-36) just want it to work smoothly. So, after I'm done with this message, I'm going to do a lot more reading.
If you have any ideas or know of any older threads I could look at, let me know!!
Thanks!!!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
