Wow, never knew that trivia point - from Wiki....Dean was driving west on U.S. Route 466 (later State Route 46) near Cholame, California, when a black-and-white 1950 Ford Custom Tudor coupe, driven from the opposite direction by 23-year-old Cal Poly student Donald Turnupseed, moved to take the fork onto State Route 41 and crossed into Dean's lane. The two cars hit almost head-on.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

OK, and Mr Turnupseed just recently passed away. I stayed in Cholame, CA for 3 weeks the summer of 1975.Livin' on Route 66

James
This picture was taken the morning he was killed. The '55 Ford pulling the trailer was also his but he elected to drive that day.
There has been lots of discussion as to his speed at the point of collision but needless to say, it happened. I've had the privlege of meeting many of those who knew him personally and/or went to school with him.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
