Newbie
Hello my name is Mike. I have a 1987 silverado, and I am rebuilding a small block 350 for it so far just the short block is put together and here in a couple minutes I will be putting on the cylinder heads. I just joined for questions I may have down the road, and I would also like to know what are some good mods I can do to this engine for a little more horsepower. I'm building this for reliability and am not looking to throw a vortech supercharger on a work truck lol but would like to know of some mods with proven performance.
Thank you.

Mike, seeing you are past where alot of the mods are done ( heads, cam ) All I can say is maybe headers.... CHROME, LOTS OF CHROME... chrome knocks off 2 seconds:D

Welcome Mike!!! '87 Chev Silverado... nice! At one time the most sought after year of Chevy pickups. Just bypass the 350 and drop a 502 in 'er!:3dSMILE:

lol haha well as of now he's a little rusty and has some holes and the cab corners are gone. I am going to fully restore it and was wondering if it would be better to replace the bed sides door skins and fenders or to try to repair them. Being 20 years old my body work skills haven't really developed yet lol and need to do it the easiest way possible.

Drive it to Arizona, sell it and buy a rust-free model. They're everywhere. Have a quality undercoating job sprayed under it and than all you have to do is the paint that has been bleached out by the God-awful Arizona sun.
