I shortened the body of the van by 51" (the width of the slider door plus the door gaps) There are pics of the van on my site as well as another van that I am building for a guy from Malden, Mass. Check it out ! "Mystery Machine II Scooby's gone PRO STREET !"
I believe the van from the cartoon was a mix of a Corvair Van and a Citroen. What could be better than an CHEVY VAN !

    Mystery Machine

Actually to prevent being SUED the artist drew the front end of a Dodge Van and the rear of a Ford, Then tossed in some Chevy Doo-dads and stuck with that in every cartoon...

Hanks Van to DATE is the best one I have ever seen, (and gotten a ride in it)

Theres nothing like a car-load of screaming GIRLS wanting you to pull over so they can see the back of your Van..

You would swear they all think you have a Great Dane in the back named Scooby... (dont we all?), Dunno about you But I have always called mine Fred... hahaha

Just dont show them the box of Scooby Snacks!
(on the gas cap it reads "Scooby Snacks")

The one in the latest movie was a real stupid looking Chevy Van with a bunch of in-correct colors and sheetmetal riveted all over it.. Looked like (_!_)

OH and Hank thanks for the PLUG on my Chevy Tub!

Thanks for the compliments ! Like I say, if you can't build something nice, don't build anything at all. I like taking a vehicle that noone really wants or likes and turn it into something crazy. I'm really excited about the project van I'm working on right now. I also shortened it 51" like the Mystery Machine van I built. This one will feature a wider stance with the addition of Mickey Thompson Sportsman's and custom hand formed body panels. You can check out the build on my website at http://www.whosyadaddy.com

As for today, I'm off to hammer out a 28" Chopper Gas Tank ! There will be pics on my site tonight.

Hank I don't think I've ever seen any vehicle with such a short wheel base. Great looking Van.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I don't know what it is but I like Shorty Cars, Trucks & Vans ! The average person see's a vehicle for what it is, I look at it for what I could do to it.

Here's the Chopper Tank I made today. CLICK HERE to see it.

I'm making a full custom "BIG-D" Diamond Chopper Gas Tank next !
