No more rusty, pitted rotors.
JTR engine/tranny install kit next.
Very nice - I hadn't seen the beginning of the thread, so did some catch up.
I would like to make one comment - please downsize the photos to fit the screen. A lot of folks when if they have to scroll across the screen will not go beyond the first wide page - and I've been guilty of that:).
Wheel well and suspension look great! Takes nothing more then a bit of elbow grease and some paint to make things look better then new! Very nicely done!
I like the look of the Z's dash, but mine is so old and brittle I'm not sure I can save it.:(
I followed the method used here http://www.classiczc...ght=dash+repair with mixed results.
The final result was not very good. The plastic is so old and brittle that it cracks under the slightest pressure and the final texture and paint just wasn't going to be visually pleasing.
I decided to cover the entire dash with fiberglass in order to get a good hard surface to work with. The glove box door was warped and looked bad, so I decided to eliminate it all together. Not sure if I'll have it painted to match the cars exterior, try to cover it with material or try some other finish technique.
One thing's for sure... there's a lot of sanding in my future.
I think the glass should beef it up to where it should stay together! Great idea I wouldn't have thought of. Great way to keep the old dash but customize it to your needs!
Hotrod No
Ferrod, sportrod, eurorod, enzorod, just not a hotrod, no disrespect intended and it will still be a cool build and im sure you will enjoy building and driving yours as much as the rest of us.
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST!!!!
My flywheel, clutch kit and engine / tranny instal kit are here!
Can't wait to get that All American iron in my Italian inspired machine.
Anything that turns money into speed, noise and horsepower - it's a hot rod for sure!
Big day tomorrow!!! The Vello gets her heart.
My son will be helping me install the SBC.
Nice power plant
OK... it's in!!!! Took a little help from my son Nick and his fiance' Channing, who took the pics. Fits like a glove. The JTR people sure have the bugs worked out of this procedure. The SBC 350 slid in sooo easily.
I little massaging to the transmission tunnel and everything bolts up tight.
