Hi.
I`m a 40 years old fan of hotrods and veteran cars and i live in Norway. My dream has for many years been that i one day would have a veteran car or a hotrod.
About 1,5 year ago my dream came through when i bought a `61 model veteran car.
It was in a terrible shape and i think everyone else would have sent it to a junkyard. Anyways, i started to repair this old car and it became obvious that it could never be restored to original state again.
My friend and i had a little "brainstorming" and decided to make something fun of this unusual car, a hotrod!
My car is not a usual car to build a hotrod on but that didn`t stop us.
You now might be wondering what kind of car this is. It is a Jagst 770, or better known as a Fiat 600.
On this car we have frenched both head and tail lights + the antenna, replaced the original tail lights with ford lamps from a `38, and widened the rear wings about 3 cm.(1,1/4 inch) on both sides. Since we didn`t have special tools to do this job we used what we had: angle grinder, hammers, blow torch, and welder. We split the rear wings and moved them out, fixed them in place and filled the gap. Boy, what a job to get the shape right.... A lot of detail work has been done also. It`s not finished yet, but i hope to be for the spring of 2010.
Well... check this link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU4LoTgJ23E Hope you enjoy it.
(P.S. For those who wonder why the owner in the video is called Arrabiato, this is my nickname in my local fiat club. D.S.)
