New to the site....
Hey Folks, Mark here. I've been in the car business for about thirty years, but just started a '34 Ford pickup project for a friend, and recently stumbled across this site when googling for radiator mounting ideas. The questions and responses I have read encourage me to seek the help of those of you who have been doing this for a while and are willing to share your experience.
I have boxed a '38 sedan frame, added Mustang II front suspension, crossmembers, 351W and C-4. Underfloor power brakes and standard 8.8" rear end are in place, and I'm starting to figure out how (and where) to mount the nice aluminum radiator from Speedway ($250!!). I have a fiberglass '32 radiator shell to mount the rad into, and a 'glass hood to determine the fore/aft location. Hopefully there is room for an electric fan between water pump and radiator core. This is, of course, only one more challenge in the project; gas tank, steering column, and reviving a 75 year old body are close behind.
I hope I can find the right places to ask all my questions, and that there is someone willing to help. I am inspired by the rods and rides I've seen here, and hope to post some pics here somewhere. Eventually, I will find time to restore/rehab my wife's '47 1/2 Chevy pickup. One small step at a time. Thanks for having me!
".......So sanded it all down and resprayed. ......" Been there. done that on a couple of paint jobs over the years. Usually took me a couple of days to get over being mad before I started...
