Building a 54 Ford Country Sedan Wagon....
Just got the donor car yesterday.....351W C6

Like, 650 miles north of Seattle

PG409 ; Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy this site as much as I do.We have some great people here that can help you out with just about any question you may have. I know they have helped me out many times. Like you I like fords,but I'm driving a old cadillac right now. Hang on to that small block C6 tranny, that's a good tranny. If you need help IDing your 351windsor let me know.

I cannot tell a lie, the Ford shares garage space with
a couple of Chevies.
A 39 Chev 2 door/454/th400.....4 trips to Bonneville....
and a "driver quality" basically unrestored 1963 Impala
ss Convert with a 340 hp 409......
Just retired a year and a half ago and keeping busy.

Hers is a 68 Cutlass Supreme HT, unrestored, low miles.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
