Hello From Michigan
Nice to meet you all!
I am just a good ole farm boy transplant ( working as a manufacturing / controls engineer) who has always enjoyed the old vehicle's. Am married, have a couple of daughters and a dog. Currently have a '70 Malibu, 350, original AC car that I am working at putting back to "as close to original" as money will let me. Previous owners were building a SS clone out of it. Love to chat with anyone with a similar vehicle.
Haven't had much luck with the search feature on this site, wouldn't mind a quick lesson there either.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
