I'm very happy with what I see on this site. I tried some other hot rod boards but they seem to have a VERY narrow focus. Glad to be here and I'm having a blast building my car. :cool:
My build is probably not traditional enough for many of you but it should be a great start for me and a fun car to drive. I'm the owner of FFR 33 hot rod #37 and I know several other builders are members here too. I hope to finish the car in 2009 but I just took delivery in late Jan.

This is a great site and even though we rib eachother at times, any form of build is respected and encouraged. We range in amateurs/first timers (myself included) to pro builders, painters, upolterers, etc.. everyone with something to share. Love to see some pics of the 33. Sounds like a fun project!
Welcome Goeff. You are right, our membership is pretty diverse in the types of cars we like, but we seem to overlook those differences and just enjoy talking with each other.
Give us some pictures when you get a chance.........there is a heavy fine if you don't post pictures. :eek::3dSMILE::3dSMILE:

Welcome :) Most everyone is nice, we had a few that would exaggerate. They burst on to this site and say things like "I can build this '23T Roadster for $3,000" then goes on and builds one of the nicest cars on the site, and never asked for forgiveness for misleading us. :LOL:Then he comes back on and is one of the most helpful and nicest guys here. Beware!! :LOL::LOL::D

Welcome, don't let Ken fool you not only does he build some of the most inspiring engineering vehicles. I swear they should be on the stage, but he likes to drive them go figure. The $3000 dollar car is a fantastic build, shame the whole family has talent.
Alot of nice people on this site, they love to help. We love pictures of the build.

Welcome to CHR Geoff! You've found a nice place to hang your wrench.:LOL: There are some traditionalist here, but only a few. Most are well rounded (some even plump :LOL:) and diversified and all very helpful.

I just got my MegaSquirt parts to build last week. I've finished the relay board and Stimulator. The ECU is next and will probably take a week or so at the rate I work and with this being my first MS.
It's a MS2 but will be built upgrade ready in a MS3 case. I would like to have the USB support and SD card datalogging that comes from the MS3 daughter board. I don't plan on the MS3X card but I might build my harness so a switch to sequential injection will be easier.

My SpeedHut gauges got here today!!!!
They arrived when promised and look exactly like what I ordered. These are custom Revolution series gauges. White face, dark blue font (nearly black), EL reverse blue lighting, red needle with red glow, black bezel, and includes all the wiring and sensors.
The speedO is GPS which gets you some neat features. The tach has an integrated shift light system. ALL of the gauges have dual peak record and a programmable warning light. The exception is the fuel gauge that has a programmable low light.
These are for a hot rod not a coupe or roadster so the look need not match an ideal for the era. I decided against any logo or graphics.

They have a great special on right now. Free top or fenders and if you make it in the first 10 to order they throw in a tilt column.
I keep the FFR 33 Registry map up and I just added car 210. Mine is #37 and I think we have over 20 completed. It seems to be a pretty solid car. We have one that is approaching 2000 miles with no issues of consequence. There are probably others with higher mileage but not everyone checks in on the forums. :D

Sorry for not updating more often and I'm really sorry that it's been so long since progress was made. Finally the schedule is allowing some hot rod time. :3dSMILE:
Minor progress was made over the last few days. Most everything will come back apart but I did get some parts fitted and ready for PCing. I was hoping to put pressure in the fuel lines this weekend but a white water rafting trip came up.
I'll be pulling the front suspension apart next weekend for some repairs and upgrades.

What upgrades are you speaking of for the suspension? I've watched the vids & it appears that that is the one thing they actually really worked out.

The suspension upgrades are really minor. I have to change out the 4 steering arm bolts for a new spec from FFR. They use these silly boots for the upper ball joints that have to go. We found some that actually seal on both ends, not the open at the top crap that the car came with. :confused:
I made a poor choice when I selected my fuel filters so those will get changed out too. My ECU is still in the little ziploc bags because I had some confusion on which parts of the MS2 I could leave off. I now have ALL of the MS3 components to include harnesses so I'm ready to get started on it this week too. :)
I keep going back to the FF web site & looking at the fendered '33 .... I dig that soooo much.
