I live in upper South Carolina. (York Co) Been out of the car thing for a few years. Getting back into it with a rough 42 Chevy coupe. When I was active in the hobby, I was really active. Corvettes and musclecars were my thing. Did several frame-off restos of both. The hobby got to be so anal and expensive all of the fun was gone. Show points, trophies and trailers were what it was all about. I got tired of it and turned to one of my other passions...motorcycles. Indian motorcycles in particular. The car bug has never left me, so I decided to dive back in. This time I won't get caught up in the show/concours thing. This time it is just for fun and relaxation. I am going to do the 42 the way i did them when I was young. Functional, clean, fast and safe. Anyway, a little background on me. I have a pretty diversified background. At present (last 18 years) I am a multi-line Insurance Agent. Prior to that I was in the automotive field. Heavy automotive...Rockwell International. I was/am a certified machinist, certified welder, certified QC tech and certified QC engineer. I was winner of the regional Plymouth Troubleshooters contest when I was 16 years old. Also winner of the Golden Hammer award for woodworking at about the same age. Eagle Scout too. How is that for diversified? Anyway, glad to be here. Hope to make some friends and get some help....maybe even help someone every now and then. Looking forward to going to work on the 42. Right now I am trying to get get the shop clean enough to actually do something. Now THAT'S an undertaking.
