New Dude
Old guy that's been oughta wrenchin for about 20 years cause of time. The names Donnie.
Now I've decided I couldn't stay away any longer so I picked up a 79 Vette. Runs OK for a new Crate motor but just doesn't snap your neck when you hit the pedal so I'm gonna have to work on that.
My plan is to use what's left of the nice weather to get all the mechanical I can taken care of then use the winter to get it ready for a spring paint job. I did custom paint on the side for about 9 - 10 years , but like the wrenchin it's been about 20 years since I've sprayed. Don't think I've lost that touch, but I do have to get to know the new paints since back then.
What I have lost is a lot of memoryso I have to get back into wrenchin and remember (learn) all over again.
Hopefully I'll be some use to the threads.

Welcome back Donnie. It's still just as much fun, but it costs a lot more and there's a bunch more doing it. Have fun with the VetteYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!

Welcome, I think you'll find there are a bunch of pretty good guys on the board.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
