Hi Mike. welcome to Virginia. What I would do is start easy. Find a car that really gets your blood pumping and modify or restore it. That is how I am starting and I am in love with the whole process. That way when you go for a complete build you will be surprised at how much you have learned along the way. Also you will have a good idea of how much parts cost for different applications. This is a fantastic site and you will meet alot of people here that will soon seem like family. Any idea on what kind of car that you are thinking about?BARB

Welcome to CHR, Mike! I think you'll enjoy the site and the people here, especially if you have desires to build a rod or a street machine. We have a lot of both plus a few drag racers thrown in to keep us interesting.
Unless you're a diehard Cheese-Head, I don't think you'll mind the climate change much either.Bob
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

Thanks for the welcomes. As it stands right now, I'd be most interested in doing a restoration of either a first gen Camaro or Mustang. Still not sure which way to go, but hopefully that'll come in time.
Down the road I'd like to be able to build one from the ground up, like a '34 Ford or something similar.
Again, thanks for the welcomes.
John's ride to the cemetery, his beloved Billings OK bus, The Baby Elephant!! Traveling in style!! As his service was starting I couldn't figure out what the music was, heavy on a flute in a jaunty...
