Noob checking in from Columbus, Oh

Well, I am completely new to the hot rod scene. I've always been interested in cars in general, you know thar genuine curiosity of how everything works. I have limited experience working under the hood due to the fast paced life I have been living in the Marine Corps.

I actually first started working on cars with my brother and cousin, who are both into the Honda, turbo 4cyl thing. I was never really into it, I wanted the ground rumbling raw power of hot rods and old american muscle. It's always been a dream of mine to build my own hot rod but I honestly don't even know where to start, so I'm hoping to find some good advice on here.

    That's all for now,

    HRB

Welcome to DHR, HRB! Columbus you say. I bought a streetrod there once at the Goodguys event. They have one there every July and you should go. They always get about 6000 rods and customs and it is good place to go and see a lot of cars. Might help you determine what kind of car you would really like to get into, also get a lot of advice from the show participants.

In any case, members here have a great deal of experience in all facets of cars and truck and can be a valuable source of info and help as you progress.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!

Welcome to the club. Always good to see new people joining. Hopefully, you'll be able to find a rod that suits your taste and get yourself into one.

    Good luck,

That's good news, I should be home for a little while in July. I forgot to mention that I'm down in Haiti right now. I'm not quite sure what car I want to get into yet. I do know that I would like something that I can completely build from the ground up. I think if I do it that way it will 1: Let me build it the way I want it and 2: give me a better understanding of all the inner workings of the car.

Thanks for the advice, do you know the exact dates when that show is?

Welcome to the club. I have only been a member for about a week and have already learned a great deal about where to find parts and advice. I hope you can do the same.
