New B From Ohio
Hello everyone,
I am sort of a new person around here. I think I joined this forum in 2005 but only made three posts.
A little bit about me: My name is Thomas and I am 20 years old. I have been into cars for about six years now. I got my first car, a 68 SS Chevelle when I was in 8th grade. It took two years for my father and I to restore it. He helped me build my first engine for the car (350) then just this past summer we built a 396 for it and it runs great. I live in Ohio and love going to Goodguys in Columbus.
As for my other two cars: I have a 72 Chevelle project car, that is going to have an 85 TPI and hopefully twin T-3s someday.
I always wanted a Hot Rod after I got into cars, I really wanted a deuce coupe but of course the budget would never allow. I found a 26 or 27 Model T sedan body for a decent price at a local car show, of course with the Ohio rust. I have not done too much to it yet, just some door work mainly. I have a model A frame for it, 28-29 A grille shell, some random guide lights, 350 being built to look more like a 265, Caddy air cleaner, 32 dash (repro of course), and thats about it so far. Dont worry its not going to be close to a Rat Rod build, I want to go for a traditional style rod or as much as the budget can allow.
Thanks for reading the rant,
ThomasMe: I don't know how to build a hot rod.
Old Hot Rodder: You ever build a model car?
Me:Yeah...
Old Hot Rodder: Well instead of using glue you weld.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
