That's fine if you want to store in a partition, another computer on your local network, or on removable media, but what I suggested is for off site storage. Not exactly an apples to apples (no pun intended ) comparison. With the Windows deal say someone breaks into your house, steals all your computer stuff you're toast, or worse a fire. It's certainly better than nothing, but the point of the carbonite site is "unlimited" storage size, that's offsite and accessible from anywhere.

Also it backs up everything in real time in the background, no need to do anything separate to make it happen. Again, options for those who appreciate them.
