New old kid
I am an old fart, 53 to be exact, and I still aren't smart enough to stay away from horsepower. Got me a little S-15 Jimmy with AWD and a sb 400. I added the juice a year ago and have lots of fun as my daily driver. Motor alone on street all season radials I am now low 11's and have fun with the crotch rockets at the lights around the Valley. Any of you ever come to Mission Raceway Park in British Columbia?Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

old geezers........thats funny. Anywho typhoon, just so happens im in the market for a typhoon. I've always wanted one but never had the money for one when they first came out. Since your up here in Canada also ( my sister lives in Chilliwack ) then you know about the difference in exchange at that time and a typhoon would have cost about $35k back in 1993, about 10k more then anything else at that time ( i opted for a ranger s/cab instead ). Well what i was looking for is something that is as close to new as i can find. I found one in the states that has 18,000 miles on it. The guy has never smoked in it and has never had anybody in the back seat. He's done the usual upgrades, four wheels disc's better breather, bigger supercharger, lowered it, and some various needed upgrades that it needed to perform the way it was suppose to. He's asking quite abit for it 25k. It sounds like what im looking for. What do you think?

Hey Rodder;
Thanks for the nod and I am looking forward to bantering with you guys.
Hi Diamond
I am sorry if I mislead you or anyone else. I do not own a real typhoon, I own a clone. I guess I was of the same mind as you when they first came out, they cost too much. So what I did was build one out of a 4X4 S-15 Jimmy. I strapped on the awd and shoe horned a small block 400 in it. I installed the ground effects and then painted it this chameleon paint or some call it, flip flop.
You mentioned a super charger, however I am sure you made an honest mistake, they never came with super chargers, but rather with a 4.3 turbo. When you said that you located a typhoon in the states, does that mean he wants 25 U.S.? If so , that is way too much. I think 12-18 U.S. is the average pricing for one of these. There is a forum called “syty” and if you visit it and ask this question, you will have immediate accurate responses. http://www.syty.org/ Good luck.
Ps, AWD is an incredible advantage on street tires in the dry, in the wet, and in the snow.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

Ya i did mean turbo charger. I looked in the classic car price guide and it does say in there that a mint 93 typhoon goes for $25k american. I thought it was too much and figured more around 20K. The dude still hasent sold it and ive been looking for about a month. I found about 50 on the market rangeing anywhere from 8k-25k. Becouse it's basically a factory rod i wanted to get something in great shape becouse most of them would proablly have the crap driven out of them, and im pretty particular. Thanks for the link, i'll look into it, let you know how it comes out
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
