Great looking forum

I just found the site in a google search, and it looks like there is a wealth of info here.

The reason I'm stopping in is to do some research about building a glass 34 coupe in the traditional rod style. No fenders, I do want a hood on it, and thinking about a ramjet 350. The project would be a ways off but I want to get an idea of the budget asap. What would be the best area to ask questions about the budget and specifics for a project like this?

I currently have a 55 chevy hardtop that is nearing it's low budget completion. Here is a picture:

Jake, Welcome to CHR! Very nice looking '55!!! We aren't real formal here, I suppose "Hot Rod Talk" would be as good a place as any to ask about your pending project. Thanks for the intro, and enjoy the site!!!!!

Welcome aboard. There's lots of very experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly folks here. You will surely find the answers to your questions here. In my opinion, the best place for us rodders on the net.
I dont have much info for your specific project, but Im sure lots of others will chime in here to help you out.

Welcome to the forum Jake. Love your '55. So nice to see a hardtop done so tastefully. Throw us some more pictures when you get a chance. If that car is "low budget" you could have fooled me.

There are a lot of 33-34 guys on here, and some, like Jack (Henry Rifle) can probably save you some grief and steer you the right direction bodywise and all.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the compliments. I'll include a few more pics. The pictures are very kind if you catch my drift, all of the little flaws are kept at a distance. Seeing the car in person you can really tell that the coin was not flowing too freely :LOL:

I still have interior work to do and probably another go at painting it within a year or two.

I lived in Austin for a few years earlier this century and loved it. It's tempting to move back the way that real estate has behaved here in northern CA.

YEA,AUSTIN IS RATED 3RD IN THE NATION ,AS THE BEST REALESTATE MKT. thats a really nice 55, it looks like your front seats are not stock, what kind of seats are they?? did you make the seat brackets to mount them to the floor or use the brackets from the donor car,

i ve read in the hot rod mags of people using acura seats in those 55's.......currently i have the front rear seats out of mine and am curious to know of any info or tips you have regarding the installation of bucket seats in the shoe box

i ve searched the forums for info but no luck.....thanks
