Hey, new poster here, been lurking for a while, but finally getting around to starting my project. I have a 37 Chevy Master Deluxe that I will be street rodding. It has been in a barn since 1957 and needless to say, needs some work, but I've got to say...seeing what other people have started with, I've already got a real good start! Hopefully, I will get it in the shop this weekend and start taking it down to the frame.

I have just recently got into street rods and find it all quite fascinating. My previous car experience has been with more, um, conventional vehicles and while I do most of my own mechanical work, this will by far be the largest project I have done to date, by far!

Anyway, the car has a 1951 235 currently. I originally had decided to find someone to sell it to, with the hopes that I can offset some of the cost of my street rod with parts I won't be using. However, now that I've done some reading on this board and been to some car shows to see some other projects that people have done, I've got different thoughts for the engine.

Has anyone taken a inline 6 and dropped it in a glass 32 coupe shell on a tube chassis? Most of the little roadsters I see have monstrous engines in them and that seems like it offsets the lightness of the glass body. I thought it would look pretty neat and be slightly original to do something like this, does anyone have any references to people doing something along these lines?

Thanks and by the way, great board. Hope you don't mind a guy that asks a lot of questions.

Ron
