Introduction
Hello, my name is Chris McDonald. I am a certified car nut.
I keep my website updated at:
McSpeed
I am joining your site as I need as much support and advice as I can get.
Let me tell you a quick story.
Twenty years ago, my Dad bought a crazy 1923 T from a auction yard. He brought it home and the whole family pitched in to shine and polish the brass and chrome. We drove it to the 9th Daytona Rod Run.
A fellow by the name of Bruce Glueck, of Bruce Glueck Chevy in Jasper, Florida talked my dad into selling the T in 1983. My family has remained friends with Bruce since that time. The 23 was Bruce's first hot rod, and has since spawned a full blown collection of some of the nicest cars I have ever seen.
My Dad passed away on 10/25/03. He and I were very close, and we enjoyed cars together. I miss him with every fiber of my being, as he was my best friend, mentor, guide, and teacher.
Bruce heard the news of my Dad's passing. It broke his heart as well, and he wanted to do something special. He GAVE my Mom the 23 T. It is in the exact same condition as it was when I last saw it except for new tires, and a few other items.
It makes my Mom so happy to see it again. I drove the family around the block in it on Thanksgiving Day. My Dad would have been proud.
We decided as a family that we would restore the T bucket (as it is in need of paint and other work) and take it to the 04 Turkey Rod Run in Daytona in memory of my Dad.
So.....look out for me to have lots of questions when I get started. We want to preserve as much of the old car as possible, while bringing it up to date with better brakes, steering, etc.

Welcome to CHR Chris. Cool "T", and it looks like it will "freshen" up to be a super nice rod. Sorry about your dad. If you've got any youngin's of your own, you can carry forward the same relationship that you and your dad had.

Thanks guys!
I am already asking questions, and you are already helping.
I am going to have my first child next year. It is going to be a boy. I can't wait to get a wrench in his hands and get him started right!

Welcome to CHR, Chris. I felt the same way as you when my Dad died, seemed like lots of things lost their significance. You have something very wonderful to honor your Father's memory with. Ask away my friend, would do anything we can to help.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
