Welcome to CHR
sounds like a good project. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

My first rod was a 1941 ford truck. Wish I still had it. It was channeled 6" and we cut the box 18" and ran a 55 gallon drum set in back on the bed for gas tank. Back then I could buy 3 gallons of gas for $1.00 but the 53 merc mill I ran plus my heavy foot, gas didn't go far and it seems I would always calling my Dad up on Friday nights coming home from partying, saying I was out of gas.:D
