i am a newbie
i am a former drag racer and chevy fanatic from southern california, i raced in southern cal in the old days 63-72, lion's drag strip was my usual weekend location and the scene of much of my success, also won trophies and brackets at irwindale, orange county international, fontana, ramona, carlsbad, san fernando etc. was proud owner of many '55-'57 chevy's, a few impalas, etc. a few pontiacs. i am now getting ready to retire from a 45 year aerospace career and want to have myself another toy, probably a '55-'57. though i see the prices are more than i paid for tall 30 of the '55-'57s i previously owned. oh i understand, they are rare and in demand. looking for a good value on something substantially clean and together in good running and with minor work to be done.

Welcome to CHR... There are still some tri-5's around at a decent price, but most would not qualify as only needing a little bit of work. There was a guy had a post on here about a '56 ex-drag car in Ventura.... Better look, might be one of your old ones!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Learning must be difficult for those who already know it all!!!!

There was a '57 150 2-door recently listed here in the "for sale" section. 350/350 combo, and yellow and white 2 tone paint. Look around 'til you find it.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
