I don't know why it has taken me so long to sign up.Search the web all the time looking for specific bits and pieces,I am hoping this forum will make it a lot easier.Own a 53 Willys pickup which has a blown smallblock and have just added nitrous to see what will blow first.Am learning all the time which is easy when you don't know much.Am finishing the truck this winter hopefully with the upholstery being the last item.:D

Welcome to CHR
Any pictures of your project??

Welcome.
Don't know how old you are, but there was a time when the wagon version of your truck was a popular race car. I believe it was in Modified Production classes.

That's got to be a wild ride!!!! Great looking truck, super job on the build!!!!

Thanks for the compliment it definitely has been a learning experience. So far 5 years and counting.I hope to finish the upholstery this winter now that the snow has started to fly. Can't take credit for the paint or some of the bodywork but was happy to get it on the road this past July and get some miles on it.It is a lot of fun which is what it's all about right!:D

Boy That's one fiine looking truck with that blower sitting up like that. What are you using for gears?
-
I am assuming by gears you are talking rear end.It is a 9" rear with 3:54 gearing.Picked it up at a wrecker out of an old F150 tore it down and put on a disc kit from Wilwood and it has a Chris Alston 4 bar setup with Panhard bar.The bed is made from 1/8th inch plate to add a little weight but it doesn't help much.I built it for the street so am not to worried about the lack of traction, keeps me honest.:D
If you were reffering to blower drive gearing it is 9% underdriven.
-
Your right the first time. With those 3:54 gears and I'm guessing around 500-550HP and a willys truck that probably weighs in about 3200 lbs your talking about some serious elapse times if you ran it at the drag strip. Congrats on a beautiful built truck.:D
