I really look forward to learning more about these cars - finding the right look, options, availability, prices, aftermarket support, etc. There is a very well preserved mid to late 50's Olds down here hidden away in an old girlfriend's parents' garage, but its a hardtop and they have no intention of selling.
Which are considered the best looking or most desirable convertibles from the mid 50's to early 60's era?. I have to say that while I appreciate the look of the venerable 55 to 57 Chevy, my personal taste takes me away from the upright, boxier shapes and more towards the lower, longer, "rocket car" look. What a shame that auto designers had to finally resign themselves to the knowledge that cars were not going to fly anytime soon. That really took the wind out of their sails for a few years and killed the whimsical exuberance that characterized their creations.
