Newbie (Just wanted to say Hi) Keep wrenching

My name is Chris.I have a few projects going at the moment.1955 Imperial 331 Hemi,Air condition car.Also second 1955 Imperial becoming trailer for the first car.1978 Caprice Classic,two door slant back window.
First car had to much rot and decided to do away with it.So I got a second Imperial and am loving it.It has been inside a garage since 1984.The man who owned it filled the engine with trans fluid and has not been started since.So any advise would be well appreciated.
I will post alittle more about myself and projects later.In to much of a hurry to check the site out.Wrench on and enjoy your toys!:D

Welcome Chris. When you say he filled it with transmission fluid, how full did he go.........just cylinders or like gallons of oil in the crankcase until it was flooded?

Sounds like a mess. Drain all the old gunky ATF out of it. With a car that age no reason to bother trying to get it running. Take it all apart and do a good rebuild on it... Anyhow, neat cars, welcome to CHR.
