Hey Everybody, I'm new here so i thought I'd take the time to introduce myself. My name's Jimmy McLean, I'm from Fresno California, but right now I'm going to school at UTI in avandale,AZ. I've got a 1950 Ford 4 door, that i put a 302 and c4 in. I got into old cars from my dad who makes wheels for old cars, after getting out of school here in a few months I plan on taking over the bussiness, His Bussiness is called Rally America, but he's more known for his first wheel bussiness, McLean Wire Wheels. Anybody ever hear of it? Anyway, I've been helping him make wheels my whole life and know a pretty good amount about wheels, maybe I could spread some information, and if somebody asks something I don't know, I can always ask my dad about it, he knows just about everything there is to know about old wheels. I also hope to learn a lot. See you in the forum

Welcome Jimmy. I do remember McLean Wire Wheels. You guys were big guns in the wheel business in like the '80's I think. Every van and resto rod had them on it. I remember some that had gold spokes and chrome rims. I think my Kid had a set on his lowrider S 10 at one time.

Ah ha! Now I know who you are, you talked to my dad this morning.
Here's some pictures of the Model AT. We made it out of this A rolling chassis and some T body parts we just had layin around. That A chassis is amazing, we put a new carb we had on it and it ran. Starter and genorator even worked after sitting out side for who know how many years.

McLean wires were well respected wheels. My brother in law had a set on a 39 Int'l pickup. Good looking wheels. I had been to the Rally America site when I was looking for new wheels for my streetrod, (I bookmark everything). Many look the same as Wheel Vintiques. Are they from the same manufacturer? I will be looking for wheels for my kustom in a few weeks/months, maybe I will check back with you for pricing. Nothing fancy, just chrome rims with baby moons. Our website isn't very accurate anymore, it hasn't been updated for a few years... yeah. When we made that my dad just wanted to resell Wheel Vintiques wheel but now we are back to mostly making our own wheels. We still do some reselling but now we ussually just will refer you to wheel vintiques if their wheels would be better suited for you. So yes mopar, most of the wheels on the website are wheel vintiques wheels, and wheel vintiques is the manufactuer. Wheel vintiques isn't really a competitor with us because we do different things, (if fact, my dad used to own a portion of wheel vintiques and designed their wire wheels) While wheel Vintiques mass produces a lot of standard wheels, we make mostly custom wheels, ie, different backspacing, reversed, restoring old wheels and fixing your wheels. We are trying to get more into mass producing but that won't be for a number of years
