For jeremy,I always try to go for a donor car and use as much as possible, drivetrain, brakes ,steering and column, wiring harness, quite literally all I can find a way to transfer, sometimes even the chassis. On the other topic beginning to develop here, Nash and hudson went together and became american motors. Studebaker and packard joined, and continued manufacturing long after they stopped making cars with the Avanti being sold off and continuing production for a brief time. Hank

Hank, thanks for the reminder. I do like the old Studes, Pat's red one is most excellent. Now if I could find me an Avanti some day.... one more project wouldn't hurt, would it????
Jeremy, the 440 should make a great powerplant! Anxious to see the pics.

Hey Jeremy,
Cheverolet still makes all the parts for the 348 motor for Stude's.
You don't have to change from Stude to get horsepower, and you sure don't have to put a FORD in it to be different, but if you do make sure that your AAA is paid up.
