Swede Newb signing in... again :)
It seems the forums went south for a while there, good thing theyre back!
Im a noob from sweden, and I am in the planning stages of my first hotrod (or whatever its called, im very bad at terminology)
Hopefully I will have something to contribute here (I am a welder), and Im sure I will learn a lot from everyone here.
Since I am new to building cars, I thought picking a cheap, easy to get car as a base would be good. In Sweden the Volvo Amazon is a genuine classic, and there are lots of them around in very good shape for a good price.
Here is my idea:
Original car
My vision:
As for engine, suspension and so on, I am currently researching what would be feasable to put into this car (it is actually pretty small)
Thoughts are welcome, and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you

I believe that looks like the old model 122 they used to sell here in the 60's. Hardy cars. Not fast nor quiet, but lasted a lifetime.
Actually, your vision looks very good. Now all you need is a plan to start and to stick to it until completed. Good luck and post a picture of your progress from time to time. Always good to see some creative wisdom.
oh and by the way, welcome aboard!

thanks everyone!
Well, since this is my first build ever, if you guys say it will be a lot of work, ill add 300% to that and prepare myself for some serious trouble!
Im going to try to make a buildlog as soon as I get going, but right now a couple of friends and I are negotiating for some shopspace so building is on hold for a couple of months
I will get this done though, so if you guys are still around in... say... 2015, I am sure you are all going to be in awe!

Welcome to CHR Martin
Nice custom your planing there- if you can get the bikini team to be on hand for the build you will get more help than if you buy pizza & beer, but only do one or the other. Otherwise it's a party, and nothing gets done, lol....
Good Luck !!Jim
