Welcome to the site. As far as replacing your front suspension, try Fatman's Fabrication. I think they have lowered uprights and disc brake conversions. Also look for Custom Rodder magazine. They covered putting in a Mustang II front end in.

early chevys
hey welcome to the site. Also really like the early chevys.
love to see some pics.in the middle of doin' a 48 2dr fleetline sedan.believe it or not I found a 94' ford ranger chassis that had be modified to run with a good ol' 454. just choppin' and channeling right now, got the grunt work done and am building the sub-floor tomorrow. had to lengthen the frame by 7 inches but other than that it isn't all to tough. The place that I got the '49 had a complete (in pieces, and no motor) and a spare parts car both '53 2drs. like yours coulda took 'em for 1500 bucks! but I kinda wanted the '48 a little more .
Good luck on your project
