Good for you. My wife and I came to an understanding when we married: Hot Rods and Chrome or Wild women and booze. Been married 25 years and have built many cars together. Our greatest achievment outside of our sons birth was building him his first car.(87 S10 Blazer 2wd w/283 and complete paint work and interior. He helped and it made the whole family come together. For a fact females can build hot rods. Go for the NOT its more fun.
I think I have decided that I will be restoring this to the original. Its not everyday that you come across a car that has all of its original parts and only missing 2. I think the only thing I might do different is chrome out the engine but I'm not sure. I'm dying to sand it down, but its going to be at least another weak because my husband is hogging the garage so he can paint his car. Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions. How do I put pictures on here? When I try to attach the file it says the website is not responding. Any ideas?
Just click on "post reply" or "quote". Scroll down under the text box & click on the "browse" button. Select a pic. (I have best luck with JPG Files) from your computer and click "submit relpy"
If it doesn't upload you may need to check the pic. size. Keep it around 500 px. and keep the resolution low so it loads faster. :)
This is a pic of my car how I bought it. Its going to need some work but most of the body is in good shape except for right above the tires there is alot of bondo.
Cool - I believe that is the 1963 1/2 fastback model.
Do you have any rust reapir to be done?

If it was a fastback or 63 1/2 would it say in my paper work- title ect. The rust repair list is getting bigger by the day. When I first bought it, it looked like it was in pretty good shape with some bondo on the quarter panels right above the wheels. Well today I was out tinkering with it getting ready to take off the rest of the chrome and I am finding fiber glass and a little more bondo, it's mostly solid except in some small quarter size spots. My biggest rust project on the car will be the floor pans, toe boards and the piece right behind the toe board on the passenger side. They are completely rusted through. The guy who had it before me spot welded in really thin alluminum and put carpet over it so we didnt really see it until we got home. I guess I can't complain to much since it is an old car, rust is to be expected and whats the point in having one if you cant put your blood, sweat, and tears into it!!! I will have to say even with the rust it was well worth the $1500.

I was thinking Rod it ,but the 3 under 3 changed my mind. If the driveline is basically sound I would go with it for now. Make the improvements that you want to make first. Its Your Baby! . or One of Your Babies.
There are many beautiful colors and I like them all ,But my two favorites are RED, and RED.
I never wanted to admit that any ford ran good and this story will be hard for many of you to believe. On night many years ago while on vacation in Charleston ,W. Va. I rode with a guy in a Red, Falcon Sprint convertible,High performance 260 v8--4 speed. We went to race a 61 Starliner, 390--4speed. I would have bet any amount on the Starliner.---N--O--T Got my attention --real quick!

I owned a '63 years ago, red with red leather interior. One of the nicest drivers I ever owned. 260 V8 auto. I drove it for several years, then gave it to my dad and he drove it for another 6 years until he passed away.
I'm all about leaving the exterior of the car alone except for paint, then doing modifications to the suspension, steering,
brakes and drivetrain.
I'd be keeping my eyes open for a wrecked late model Mustang with a 5.0, 5-speed if your car is a 3-speed or 5.0/auto if your car is auto. Buy the whole car and use all the drivetrain including differential, cooling system, computer, wiring and all else that you need from it, then sell the remainder on ebay.
my grandpa had 64 with a straight six 3 speed on the tree

Hey all!! I've been watching for posts and stuff. I haven't posted for awhile cause I have had so much going on. I just started working on my car again this past week. I got it both sides sanded down and I am finding more and more trouble. The passenger side is bondo city. The doors and stuff are all in good shape but the lower part of the quarter panels are pretty bad. It's a lot worse than I had hoped but it will be worth it in the end. I don't think I will be driving it any time soon though. Pulled the engine and tranny out last week without any problems. The engine compartment is in good shape except where the fenders bolt to on the top is all rusted out. I will be posting quite a bit in the next few weeks. As I get into it more I will be asking a lot of questions.
