Hi, I am a new member. I am 58 years old. I own a little machine shop in Western Pa. I own a 1955 Chevy 3100 (1/2 ton) Pick up truck. I have owned the truck for about 11 years now. My son found the truck for me when he was stationed in Charleston,S.C. When I bought the truck it had a 327ci engine in it and a 4 speed behind it. Since I have owned it I have replaced the original front end with a front end designed for the truck built by Conte Enterprises. The front end is based on a 1972 Chevelle. I chopped the top of the truck 2 1/2 inches changed the steering column, wirng, master cylinder, brake lines, wiring, stripped the body down to bare metal and painted it, put new rear light on it, put a rear rool pan on it, and put new windows in it after chopping it. I am now working on putting a new wooden bed in it but I am needing some help to figure out how it should fit. I still need to finish the interior and I would like to replace the master cylinder that I put on it which is a manual brake master cylinder with a power assisted cylinder. I don't like the feel of the manual brakes. I do not know how to set the proportioning valve either thatI put on the truck because I have front disc and rear drums. This may be part of the reason I don't like the feel of the brakes. I may only be using the discs or the drum but noe both but as I said I am not sure how to adjust them. Anyway that's my story. Hope to hear from you soon. RegardsRich Caswell
