Hot Rods to VW's and back!

~Hi all... I am just joining the group. I live in the DC metro area, but I am originally from New Orleans. I grew up working on old cars with my dad. We worked on a 54 Chevy Bel Air, two 57 Chevys, 62 Impala, and a 64 Impala.

I am a VW guy with a 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T. Put some work into it and have a lot of fun in it. I have a performance ECU chip, 2 in drop on a H&R coil over suspension, and a few other minor things.

I am now taking ownership of the 64 Impala later this month. My dad gave me the option to complete the project, so I was excited and agreed. He decided to buy a Harley but still wants to see the project completed. I am driving it home next month from New Orleans to DC. I have my AAA card ready!

I will be posting pics soon of the car once it's here with me. I will need some help with the wheels and suspension on the 64. I want a good hot rod stance and look, and still keep performance in mind. I am not interested in airbags or hydros, just mean looking ride. I will be digging in to see what everyone has done and look forward to chatting with everyone. Drop me a line if you are interested in anything!
