ROAD SHOW - 41 Pickup truck
Hello all,
I'm real new to chevys,...
ROAD SHOW
Tomorrow early a.m. , I board a plane in Seattle for a short hop to northern Calif.
to pick up my 1941 Chevy Pickup truck.... and then a 1200 mile Road Show back to Port Townsend, Washington.
It's been hard to sleep these last couple of days
this is my first Chevy.
more from the black top.

Thanks, Chevy 37 !
I've owned mostly Henry's products.
I sold my 66 F-100 in early 2004, but this is my first get together with a Bow Tie. I really up for the adventure of the trip but also the new brand. I promice not to bore anyone with tooo many questions, but i know i'll have a ton.
The truck is powered by a small block 327, turbo 350 trans, Mustang II
front end, Camaro steering , ,.. i'm not sure of the rear end gears..
I was after a daily driver, but I'kk get a highway cruiser too !
So without kicking the tires, any one have any pointers
to give a novice
..don't worry, I' got a somewhat thick skin.
thanks,
I usually go by 'Bitoman' but that name was taken..
Thanks to all in advance,.. nice site , by the way,,,,
Jim

Welcome to Club Hotrod!
Welcome to the club Jim!
I am a fairly new member myself and I really enjoy this site! I probably spend more time on it than I should at work but oh well, I just figure I'm supporting our hobby, ha!
So how did the trip go coming back from Cali? It's a good thing you got it home before the gas prices in the state of Washington go over $3.00 a gallon for regular!
Get some pictures of the '41 uploaded so we can check it out! I think the guys & gals I hang with are planning a short road trip over to Port T this summer so I'll get in touch with you.

Road show photos
thanks to all who are following this.
First, I must say I couldn't have met a better seller than ' F '. I called him up on a quiet friday nite ( two weeks ago ), talked about his truck ( listed on Deals on Wheels ). Next we came up with a price. I indicated I'd fly out of Seattle the next Tues. ( talk about a L-O-N-G weekend ) to give him time to get the title ready , & i could line up AAA and my insurance.
F, picked me up at the Sacramento AP. and we zipped directly to the bank. After a handshake in the bank lobby, we were off to get the 41'.
A quick once over ( F's Uncle was builder )
look at the chrome'd 327, and the tasteful interior, not to memtion the many$$$ worth of extra parts boxed up in the finished bed. I knew this truck was taking me 'home'.
Just add a little air to one front 4" tire w/centerlines. and just filled up the tank and headed North.
This California/Washington hot rod, needs only two items
1. Wiper motors & wipers !
2. Re-install of factory heater/defrost.
The 41 turned heads, started up childhood memories, and required stranger to flash a smile and ' thumbs up'. The purchase price was returned on the three day road show north.
Peacefull Easter to all.
now for some film...

Road Show, Mount Shasta,, pretty,... & cold too !
Road show day two:
The 41, is running smoothly. "Speedo is off by 15 mph " said the previous owner,
so I kept it plugged at 50.
Except to pass a foreign make in front of a CHP,... ticket reads 82 in a 70,...ooops.
Guess I did let er' rip once or twice.
No avail...Puget Sound Radiator & Speedometer Repair in Lakecity calibrated the speedo based on the current treads...
4" centerlines in front , 10" centerlines aft...And the same gas mileage as my 98 Dakota....Last edited by fourty1; 03-27-2005 at 10:31 AM.

Hi my name is Terry and I live in the hills. I live near San Diego Calif. You can't race anymore in So Calif on the streets or they will crush your car. Not so good! This year I'am hoping to race the 1/8 mile. I would like to learn how to take a picture and post it. Thanks need help Terry"If you have a $10.00 head, then buy a $10.00 helmet"
Is it going into a build, or making a trip to NM?
