    Checkin' in

    Hi All -

I found this BBS thru... Oh heck, I don't know one of the many other car BBS's I frequent. I haven't had a change to start browsing here yet, but it looks like this site is very active!!

Anywho, I'm starting a full frame-off resto on a 1964 Impala convertible which is currently at an offsite storage garage. I've just recently built a house and am still trying to finish up the garage/shop. I'm just waiting for it to get a little warmer so I can tape/mud/paint the walls and I'm all ready to get cranking.

The Impala is an all numbers matching car with a 283, 2 speed powerglide. Even tho its a matching numbers car, it doesn't have any fantastic options on it so I'm going to be doing some mods to it. I am planning on..

    1. 383 stroker with th700R tranny
    2. 4 wheel disk brake
    3. switch to console shift vs column shift
    4. custom top/interior and paint

Hopefully I'll get to drive it before I'm 60.

Anyways, I look forward to reading all these great posts. As this is my first resto, I'm gonna be in here a lot!!!

Welcome to the boards man! 383 sounds nice. How many miles are on the 283?
There are lots of people here that will help you out if you ever need it too, a lot of smart geezers here. Stick around and good luck!

    Welcome to CHR Modas_

Mothball the 283 just in case. Sounds like a good project. Send some pics. when you get the chance.
