Greetings from the shaddow of the northpole
Hi there, fellow rodders.
As a new member on this site, I just want to say hello. As seen in the intro, I live a bit off senter to the ordinary hot rod culture.
I live in Norway and we have, I guess, the worlds longest garage-season and as you can understand, the shortest crusing season.Thats ok, we also have the most expencive gasoline in the world ($6.00/gallon) So, with that in mind, how is it possible to use over 25 year to finish a rod? Well, I have managed it. (Ok,there has been some cars in between, in fact, a lot!) Anyway, I have now de-dusted my old lady (I found her behind a barn in 1978!) and I am now in what should be the nice part of the project. Putting it together. All rust is gone, everything is painted, polished or chromed. No dirt. What`s my problem? It`s gone 25 years. Have you tried to put together a IKEA cabinette with the description. Try to do a whole car after 25 yrs without one. And after many years out of the garage, the skills is not longer what they were. Well, It`s slowly coming back and I have to take the time it takes. I have found some shopmanuals (on CD)on the net, but the quality is nothing to brag about .I`m still bidding on originals. Ok, let`s talk shop. Her body is kept original exept louvers in the hood. Engine is either a 360 police /727or a early 241 RedRam Hemi/727 . I haven`t been able to decide yet. They look so nice in the garage too. Rear axle is 8-3/4. Front end is original with ventilated Volvo disc`s and under floor power booster. I am thinking of re-doing the steering unit. Today it is original, but i do want a rack and pinion unit. Do anyone have any experience on a installation like that?. Ok. This is it for tonight. I`ll be back later. More pics is comming. Hope my english is readable. See ya
