I really think by what he is asking that he wanted to put a 4 speed stick from a 360 truck with 4th being OD behind his 440 using a 440 bellhousing and I don't know if that would have worked cause I haven't messed around with many Mopars.
I tried to buy one of those baseline late 70's overdrives and the transmission shop would not sell me one for a big block or even a decked out 360. He said even my D300 truck was too heavy to use that transmission as well.

His Recommendation was Passion Performance or Keisler.
