My dad has a Dodge Dakota 4x4 with a 5.2 letre 318 init and he wants to know if he can get rid of the govener and how he could do it?

If it's newer you reprogram it with a performance tuner, older ones may have boxes you just unplug but, I'm unshure on that one.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

I'd check the speed shops and see if ya can buy a performance chip or programmer for it
My son in law has a newer Hemi pickup and so far nuthins available, (YET)
Far as I know,dealers are the only ones who can reprogram OBDII(96 up) and they won't mess with the limiter as its set for the speed rating of the(factory) tires......

the truck is a 1992 dakota with limited slip rearend it kicks out at 180 kilometers/hour and dads got a led foot and he likes getting placed fast lol i think i can get a hold of a diagnostics computer thingy from my mechanic or get him to set it.
