Push rod length on 273 - 360 mopar
What is the difference in push rod length on a 360 mopar with adjustable rockers and hydraulic lifters compared to one with mechanical lifters . Can I use mechanical push rods and adjustable rockers of a 1966 273 on my 360 or do I need different push rods . I am changing the cam and Comp cams says i need adjustable rockers that are $500.00 I can get a new set for a 273 compleat with push rods for $100 will they work.

I can get a used set of pro Form aluminum Roller Rocker with push rods off a 340 for 150.00 are these a good product ? Would they be dependable on the street ?I have never seen these before and wonder if they are a good deal. The Guy switched to a set of W series heads and these rockers won't work.Last edited by 417strokers; 10-15-2008 at 06:28 PM.

you will need shorter push rods than those out of a solid cam'd 273.
The lifter cups are a lot deeper than the hyd lifter cups
get an adjustable push rod and adjust it till you get a combo of 2 threads above the the lock nut, or around 4 threads if jam nut is used, and about .030-.050 of plunger depression of the hyd lifter.
I know this is a very old thread, but god forbid someone read this and make the wrong purchase.
