    thermoquad carb

does any one know the cfm of a thermoquad? And is there any objections to this carb as a performance carb? besides being ugly. I ran one on my bb chevy before and was inpressed with the performance but this was for short period for what ever reason, and I was wondering if any one out there is running one?

There are two sizes, I think they're 850 and 1000 cfm. I run them on Mopars, Chevys and Fords have too much fuel pressure. (Too cheap to buy a regulator!)

I always liked them. I was working in a Chrysler/Plymouth Dealership when they first came out and went to the factory course on them.

I still have a couple builder laying around. Biggest problem I had with them was when people tried to rebuild/adjust them themselves who didn't know what they were doing.

One minor problem that occasionally pops up with them is that the plastic center body can warp a little bit. Any time I rebuild one I take a sheet of glass and lay a sheet of 400 wet/dry paper on it. I then place the the center section on it and move it in a figure 8 pattern until the gaskget is flat again. Other than that just make sure you put all the parts back in, especially the 2 flat O rings in the fuel wells.
