Setting up 6 X 2 Hemi Linkage
The other thing I worked on this weekend was the linkage for the 6 X 2 Hemi for the 37 Dodge. I’m getting it ready to put on the run stand next.
I had the throttle linkage figured out and built for a while now. The Drag Star Intake is pretty much a race only piece what was intended for 6 3 bolt carbs and synchronized linkage. As I’m putting this on a street truck and want some drivability out of it I set it up with 6 Rochester’s with progressive linkage (basically 2 Tri-Powers tied together).
My experience with early Hemi’s to include the 57 Plymouth is that they tend to be cold blooded and like a choke. There was no room for electric units and I wanted a hand choke for this anyway. It took a lot more time to figure out than build.
I looked at making another bracket set to run the choke rods and then it hit me that I could use the choke shaft holes in the rear passenger side carb rather than build new brackets.Last edited by Mike P; 08-17-2008 at 05:47 PM.

A little bit of bar stock some flat stock to make levers out of a couple pieces of steel tubing for spacers and 2 small turnbuckles was all that was needed.
The thing works great, the turnbuckles allow fine tuning the 2 choke plates and it’s easy to remove for when need to rebuild carbs.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
The Australians have finally discovered the origin of the word 'Vegan.' Apparently it's an old Aboriginal word for 'Bad Hunter.'
