Wet Intakes
I figured I would take this topic out of general, as it is a fairly streamlined subject.
What I am dealing, is a 1954 extended block 331. As far as I could tell at the scrapyard, the frame that it was hacked off of was a New Yorker. Back on-topic, I have been searching for an intake for this 'ol thing, and lost the battle for this Hilborn today to a sniper.

Does anyone have an old manifold like this around they are willing to let go? This seems to be the perfect manifold for the early 331's to convert to EFI with a Megasquirt system. What other manifolds, besides custom plumbing a manifold like Mike did on his Drag Star, are there any stock old manifolds, Hilborn or others, that were a good fit for the wet intakes?
Hmm, ive got the [IMG] tags in, why wont it insert?

Older Hemi
Good evening Boris,
You're not stuck looking for a wet manifold, just drill and tap a later dry manifold. Most of the aftermarket manifold offered for the early Hemi's will have a dimple cast at the proper spot on the mounting flange.
Look at http://www.hothemiheads.com for a broad choice of early Hemi manifolds.
The same seller of that manifold has another for sale right now which includes the velocity stacks. I had planned on bidding, then got distracted at work at the last minute. My plan was to convert it to EFI with the Megasquirt as well.
If you'd be happy with a plane jane four barrel there's one for sale on eBay for $10 or so. Just tap the holes and connect to a standard marine style remote thermostat.
Regards, Mark

Thank you for the reply MAW,
I would like to get an EFI system, however the only manifold that hotheads have is setup for 48 IDA based throttle bodies, which run a pretty penny. The other Hilborn based system that they have is $5460, well out of my price range. I have a friend that does fuel injection for Hemi's, so the conversion wouldn't be as expensive as buying one of those complete setups. Thanks for mentioning about the drilling/tapping too, Mike P had touched on this earlier, however I wasn't sure if this applied to all aftermarket intakes. Thanks again,
Ilya

If it's not to late you can still get the bodies from Hilborn for just over $1,000.
