1929 Ford Model A Coupe turned Roadster Hot Rod

Broken Light Customs 1929 Model A Coupe that has been converted into a roadster.

This is not your piece of crap, backyard built rat rod with a bunch of crappy old junk thrown on it. Professionally built, no hanging wires, no bubblegum welds, or rigged up junk or lack of knowledge and experience hacking!! Professional shop with professional build quality.

Body: 1929 coupe chopped into a roadster by 6" and channeled 5". Pop out front windshield with subtle tint glass. The body as you can see from the pictures does have cool REAL bullet holes and a few dents and dings here and there. Hey it's 80 years old right! As far as rust goes there is a small bit behind the drivers side wheel but all in all it's pretty damn solid. It was wire wheeled and primed with rust-o-leum as was the entire frame. Not with a rattle can but a gun.
Grill: New Model A shell
Radiator: New
Frame: 2X3 steel rect. tube frame, sloped up in front, and also tapered to resemble a Model A frame with speedway Model A tube axle w/ disk brakes. new shocks, correct geometry as always and So Cal steering stabilizer.
Steering: 53-56 Ford Steering box/column. Quick disconnect steering wheel which is a new speedway lakes style wheel
Rear suspension: is a 57 Chevy rear (working E-Brake) with a custom triangulated 4 link and airbags w/ poly gas tank mounted in rear. No compressor or tank, just a valve. Very smooth riding roadster, New brakes, lines, dual master cylinder. New driveshaft balanced and new u joints.
Engine: 1959 SBC 283 Professionally redone by a shop in Boone Colorado who has built multiple winning engines for race cars at Bandimere speedway. It is not even broken in yet as it only has approx 200 miles on it. roller rockers, mild cam, and 1960's edlebrock intake. New holley carb, coil, and redone distributer.
Trans: 1939 Ford top loader converted to open drive
Wheels: 16" kelsey hayes wires with new goodyear bias plys and tubes. All professionally mounted and balanced
Headlights: New 34 Ford commercial headlights
Tailights: New Model A with custom drilled brackets.
Seats: EZboy bomber style seats with covers and seat belts
Gauges: So Cal temp, speedo, tac, oil pressure, fuel, volts. All gauges work, even the back lights when the lights are on.
Gauge Cluster: So Cal
Other electrical: Signal, light, and key switches are all So Cal


This has a clear Colorado title and plates (registered as a 1929 Ford Model A Coupe). Will also include a spare 16" wire wheel with tire and the engine documentation/build sheet from the builder.

This hot rod gets looks no matter where I go and is a blast to drive! It was built with safety in mind and 100+ mile trips are no issue.

!!!!Things you should know!!!!!!
- The 39 ford trans does leak and should have the seals redone on it. They are only about $75 from vanpelts Occasionally it pops out of 3rd gear but it's rare. Shifts fine and the leak does not impact it. Keep it full and you will have no issue with a long road trip.
- 53-56 Ford Steering box will need to be redone in the near future. It drives fine and I drive it to work every now and again which is 35 miles each way.
- The lake style headers were off an old hot rod a friend had and were obviously made back in the day. Baffles have been tacked in them to quiet'em down a bit. One header sticks slightly out from the body as it came off a car that had cowl steering. If you are anal you can replace them with some jaysters or something cool.
- The speedo as stated above works perfectly however is off a bit once you get above 40mph. There is a 19 tooth gear in the trans that will need to be swapped out. I did not have time to figure out of I needed a 20 or 21 tooth gear or to go the opposite direction. Vanpelt has them too.
