Really not a bad asking price for such a nice car with a history. These Birds were such pretty cars.

In 1964 I was 18, and got a job at a local Ford dealership as a lot boy. There was a nice looking 1963 T bird on the lot, yellow, black vinyl top, real wire wheels.

One day I started it to go wash it, and when it fired up the engine sounded totally different than all the others on the lot, so I popped the hood. It had an all chrome, tripower 406 under the hood. When I say all chrome, I mean the usual stuff like valve covers, etc., but also the fender braces, master cylinder lid, power steering pump, and tons more.

I found out it was part of the Ford Caravan of factory show cars, and had been put on our lot to sell when the shows ended. They were asking $3800.00 for it, and I wanted it in the worst way, but since I was making about $ 50.00 a week, the numbers didn't compute. I did get to drive it from one lot to the other, and it really moved when those trips kicked in. I'm not sure if they fired me for driving the T Bird that way, or if it was for the burnout I did with a Falcon Sprint.

I wonder where that car is today, and what it is worth?????
