Packard for auction
I just found this car at the impound lot. It is going to be auctioned off on Feb 4. Do ya think there is a market for a 52 Packard. It looks to be complete with all original parts, etc. I bet it would run with very little help. The condition is unknown. Let me know what you think. I don't know anything about Packards but thought it was a rare find, especially in this good of condition. Thanks.

It's gonna go cheap, because many people don't know anything about them other than they existed. I'd buy it, looks solid, dosn't look like it's gonna need much chrome restoration to be a driver at least and I'm shure it will draw some " What is that " attention. I know they came with str8 8's and 6's. Couple '53 Packard clippers in my area for sale, 1 is decent and runs for $500 and the other is partly restored for 2k, but nither is as nice as that '52.

I know I said 52 but is shows to be a 51. The interior is clean with the original seats and radio. Floor looks clean and engine compartment looks as good as my pickup. I'll try to attach another photo. Thanks

Looks like it's in grear shape, that is automatic? shure looks it by the position of the shifter but I cannot see the shift indicator. I'd buy it and at least clean it up, get it running good and drive it around for a whail, you will sell it for more than you have invested when you decide to. looks like a str8 8. That would be a nice cruiser all fixed up.

Ya know Matt, the more I look at it the more I like it. Just seems like it has a lot of potential. If anyone is interested, I'll go to the auction and bid via your phone call. I'll bet all that shiney stuff is stainless steel and will rub out to look like new. If you pour some of that stuff called Magic oil, or something, CRS, and a little TLC that thing will run. Looks like it was red at one time. When it was new, it probably was a looker. Dig that grill man!

I just looked it's value up on NADA, depending on model ( theres several, the 200, 200 Deluxe, 300, and Patrician ) the value runs 2,900-5,600 low book. which means usable as is basicly, which that car dosn't look to be far from, whoever gets it, will get a deal.

That motor looks like a 300 or 400 d prabably the 300d,which is rated at 300bhp ,I am pretty sure that looks like 1.

Aster, where is it being auctioned at, and do you know if they have a web site or an internet bidding site??????
-
Dave, sorry it took me so long to get back. The auctioneer is John Sisk Auctioneers and he does have a website. The auction is on Feb 4 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Check the site to see if you can bid long distance, I'm sure you can, if not maybe we can work out something. On the site you can see more pictures of the car. Let me know what you want to do or if I can help.
