Wow, cool beans. I had one of those back in the early '80's. Suicide doors and everything! I made it my project car. 460 bored .060 over Aries Hemi heads, Hildebrand injectors, 8/71 clearanced, the 9" rear was rebuilt, single piece drive shaft installed. It was Allgrip coated in metallic black, the leather interior was completely redone, VDO electronic guages with machined aluminum dash. I had even found an old 8-track tape player, the big one that fit under the dash and you had to use a match book to hear the tape without flutter. I put a Carver cassette in the dash with sound system.
Here was the fun part. I picked up an old GE. Turbine 3500hp helicopter engine that was a discard. It was so worn out it wouldn't spin by hand. I mounted it in the trunk with fake mountings and hose and connection hookups. It looked great, at least to me. I had welded inner wheel wells in the trunk for the massive #2 DOT Mickey Thompson slicks, and had ladder bars out the back.
I was applying for a liscense plate, HVY MTL and my ex-wife served me with divorce papers. She got the car and let it rot in the backyard.
That is life. Beautiful memories, cool car. Thanks for letting me go down memory lane.

Viking, how'd you trade on a 55 F100 with a 390/3x2.4spd that needs some body work? No rust outs, just dings here and there.
And ya I got more than what your asking into it, but I think that lincoln would make a nice campanion for my 96 Continental.Last edited by Oldf100fordman; 12-14-2004 at 11:36 PM.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
