Whale Tail
Upgraded 'flag' style mirrors
Professionally repainted orig. red
Upgraded Dash
Interior all redone (tan)
VDO guages
Custom center console (boost guage, boost control, etc.)
Push button starter switch
3.8L turbo swap
Engine fully built, blueprinted, and balanced - built to take up to 25psi of boost
Forged Pistons, Rods, Crank
Performance Cam
Performance Valves/Lifters
Ported Aluminum Intake
5spd transmission torn down and re-enforced, around 2,500 miles since then
Stronger Gears used in the transmission rebuild
Racing Clutch (2500 miles)
Lightweight flywheel (2500 miles)
Tranmission adapter plate made from aircraft grade aluminum
Entire brake system replaced 500 miles ago (new calipers, BMC, etc. etc.)
New tires 2500 miles ago, well over 90% tread
Suspension replaced (shocks, tierods, cv joints, etc.)
The car weighs around 2,000 lbs and should have somewhere in the range of 280hp/350tq
The car is located in Orange County, CA - registered/titled/smog exempt

It's a '66, so there is no 17 char VIN, the production # is 452214

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
