Wish you weren't so far away!! Thems my kind of Hot Rods! unusual and so ugly they draw attention!! Seriously, Chevies fit in em and one local guy had a tunnel rammed 460 Ford in his street Levi's Gremlin. I've owned half a dozen of em but it was just to steal the front hubs for trailer projects and sell the dashes/fuse boxes for rat rods. That 258 is a real strong, tuff six tho. Too bad Michigan eats the bodies off them in about five years.

Got a few issues. 1) what kind of shape is the unibody in? especially under the fenderwells. 2) Are you sure thats a 258? if memory serves me right they were 232s in 72. 3)I could have SWORN that the gremlinX models came with a 304 as a base motor and a 360 optional. You might want to take a look at your car.

Nope its the 258, and its a true gremlin x and you could get the I6. I have the original manual and sales brochure. and the unibody is in perfect condition.

Own a 87 AMC Eagle with a 258 six. Love that car. Can pull stumps with that six. Of course the 4X4 system helps a lot. Just need to get a better carb/TBI system. And already checked my mail Streets. Now check yours
